OUR MATERIALS

Products are only as ethical as the ingredients and processes used to make them. To ensure our apparel is staying true to our values, we only use materials certified by third-party organizations.

OUR ORGANIC COTTON

The cotton plants themselves are not genetically modified or grown using synthetic agricultural processes such as chemicals, fertilizers, defoliants, or pesticides.

Why Organic Cotton?

- handpicked for purity/quality

- produces 46% less CO2

- free of harmful chemicals

- Certified Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)

- Certified Global Recycled Standard (GRS)

- Certified Organic Blended Content Standard (OCS)

- Certified Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP)

*Used in our RPET Love Birds Tee (Unisex).

OUR Water Based Ink

Most ink is made with plastisol...as the name suggests: that's plastic. We use water-based inks that DON'T contain plastic and DON'T pollute the environment.

The ink soaks into our fabric, leaving a soft and permanent print that actually becomes part of the garment.

Why Water Based Ink?

- softer feel

- low environmental impact

- provides highest level of detail

- free of harmful chemicals

- more durable than conventional ink

- Certified Gold Member of Green America

*Used in All our products.

OUR Low Impact Dyes

Our fabric is dyed using eco-friendly dyes and using 7x less water through production.

The water our supplier does use is recycled through an in-house filtration system and reused again, rather than being dumped into rivers or oceans.

The dye waste is also burned at a high temperature in a self-contained environment, allowing for no smoke stacks or pollution to be put into the air.

Why Low Impact Dyes?

- contains NO toxic chemicals

- high absorption rates and a decreased use of rinse water creating less waste water.

- Certified Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex®

- Certified BlueSign®

*Used in All our products.

What's RPET?

Our world has creates nearly 10 billion tons of plastic since the 1950's. The saddest part is that only 9% of it has been recycled and 100% of it still exists today.

When looking for materials to use for our eco-friendly products, I discovered RPET—a thread material made from recycled plastic bottles.

Why RPET?

- dries quickly

- strong fibers that don't wear down as quickly

- being flexible and resistant to wrinkles and shrinking.

- gives use to seemingly useless and discarded plastic bottles.

- Certified Global Recycled Standard (GRS)

- Certified Organic Blended Content Standard (OCS)

- Certified Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP)

*Used in our RPET Love Birds Tee (Unisex).
